Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University vice-chancellor Md Sharfuddin Ahmed said that all measures would be taken to further improve the quality of nursing services at the university hospital.
Necessary number of assistant supervisor nurses will be appointed, more senior staff nurses will be recruited to address the shortage of nurses, and necessary steps will be taken for the overall development of the service, he said at a meeting held at his office on Sunday.
BSMMU nursing superintendent Sandhya Rani Samaddar was present at the meeting, said a press release.
Meanwhile, VC Sharfuddin Ahmed participated in the administrative meeting at his office on the day. He also visited the university's hospitals and campuses, including the university's D-block and E-block.
He inquired about the medical services of the patients and gave necessary directions to the doctors and nurses concerned. Proctor Md Habibur Rahman Dulal and additional director (hospital) Md Nazmul Karim Manik accompanied him, among others.
