Opposition Bangladesh Nationalist Party secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir on Friday said that the health of the party chairperson Khaleda Zia was improving gradually and her condition was stable.
Fakhrul came up with the remark after saying prayers at the grave of the party founder and late president Ziaur Rahman at Sherebanglanagar in Dhaka on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr.
Khaleda has been undergoing treatments at Dhaka’s Evercare Hospital since April 27 with her post-Covid complications.
Although she tested negative recently, the former prime minister was moved to the hospital’s Coronary Care Unit on May 3.
Fakhrul said that Khaleda’s health condition, in fact, improved significantly and the doctors told them that her condition was stable.
‘Doctors are optimistic about her recovery,’ he said.
The BNP secretary general said that Khaleda sought blessings for the people and greeted the people of the country.
BNP standing committee members Mirza Abbas, Gayeshwar Chandra Roy, Nazrul Islam Khan and acting office secretary Emran Saleh Prince, among others, were present.
