Four to be quizzed over rape of 2 women

The Dhaka court on Sunday allowed investigators to interrogate each of the four people, who are accused of raping two women at South Keraniganj in Dhaka, for three days in police custody.

The court of senior chief judicial magistrate Begum Mishkat Shukrana gave the order after police placed the four accused before the court with a plea to question them.

Police arrested Ashique, Apu, Rifat and Fahim on Saturday after two amusement park workers turned up at South Keraniganj Police Station in the morning and filed a case accusing some people of raping them on the night before.

The women, both in their twenties, lives at Rajabari area of Keraniganj and the suspects are their former colleagues, said South Keraniganj police officer-in-charge Abul Kalam Azad on Saturday.

The women went to Rajabari Bazar on Friday for shopping where they met their former colleagues who took them to a deserted building and raped them.
