National Film Award-winning singer Nazmun Munira Nancy said that people travelling during Eid should keep in mind that if they catch coronavirus on the road, they may unknowingly expose their family members waiting at home to the virus.

‘If we get through this crisis, we will be able to celebrate more Eid festivals in future with our family members. It is not safe to travel amid the Covid situation as the virus is highly contagious and it spreads from person to person. We have to be careful as many people have lost their lives suffering from Covid-19,’ Nazmun Munira Nancy told New Age.

‘We should not go outside unless it is absolutely necessary. People have been going outside for work and artistes are also no exception. We have been working following Covid-19 health safety guidelines. However, it is too risky to go on long-distance trips braving Covid-19,’ Nancy added.

Nancy also spoke about her upcoming projects marking Eid-ul-Fitr.

‘I have recorded two songs — Tui amar hoye ja, which will be released under the banner of Portune, and Shukno Mombati scheduled to be released by Studio Joy. I hope the music lovers will enjoy the songs,’ mentioned Nancy.

She said that a number of her songs are in the pipeline. The songs were not released due to the Covid-19 crisis.

‘I have recorded six songs with Indian singer-lyricist Anupam Roy. But, the songs were not released due to the Covid crisis. I am eagerly waiting for the situation to improve. Our music industry has been hit hard by the Covid situation,’ she said.

The singer has recently acted as a model in a music video, which is a remake of the song titled Harano diner moto hariye gechho tumi. It has been directed by Vicky Zahed. She has acted opposite Imtiaz Barshon.

She shared her experience of acting in the music video.

‘It has been a great learning experience for me. Though I have done lip-syncing on the shooting floor in the past, this is the first time I have acted in front of the camera for shooting a song,’ said Nancy, who also shared her Eid plans.

‘I will spend my Eid in Mymensingh and Dhaka. I will spend the morning in Mymensingh and come to Dhaka in the afternoon as I have to attend a live music show scheduled to be aired on Desh TV at 9:45pm on eid day,’ she ended.
