Gonoshasthaya Kendra trustee and freedom fighter Zafrullah Chowdhury on Friday called on prime minister Sheikh Hasina to release Khaleda Zia.
While inaugurating a Ramadan food relief distribution programme in front of Nagar Hospital at Dhanmondi, Zafrullah said that Khaleda Zia was not receiving proper treatment, adding that her physical condition was so serious that she needed to be released for better treatment.
Zafrullah urged the prime minster to release Khaleda so that she could have the freedom to decide where she would take her treatment.
Without mental strength no patient can be cured from a disease, he said, calling on the prime minster to forget the politics of confrontation.
