The leaders of Bangladesh Khetmajur Samiti on Wednesday at a protest rally called on the government to give sufficient food, cash and medical aid to the farm labourers of the country.
Khetmajur Samiti held a rally in front of the National Press Club, where its president Fazlur Rahman was in the chair.
Fazlur Rahman said that the farm labourers of the country were struggling to run their families during the coronavirus situation in the past 15 months.
Moreover, their sufferings increased during the ‘lockdown’ period, Fazlur said.
He called on the government to provide sufficient food, cash and medical aid for the farm labourers across the country immediately.
The organisation’s general secretary Anwar Hossain Reza, central leaders Kallol Banik, Arnab Sarker, Juba Union general secretary Khan Asaduzzaman Masum and others spoke at the rally.
Khetmajur Samiti will file a memorandum to the prime minster today, and at the district and upazila levels, it would submit petitions to the deputy commissioners and upazila nirbahi officers to press their demands, a press release said.
