The police recovered the hanging body of a teenage girl from Raghabpur area under Moglabzar police station in Sylhet on Wednesday.
The deceased is Shabana Begum ,13, daughter of Sayed Ali of Raghabpur of Moglabazar.
Shabana’s mother sent her to fetch drinking water from a nearby house on Tuesday evening but she did not return home.
On Wednesday morning, family members found Shabana’s body hanging from a tree with a scarf around her neck and they informed the police.
Moglabazar officer-in-charge Shamsuddoha said there were no marks of injuries on the body.
Shabana might have committed suicide, added the OC.
The body was sent to the morgue of Sylhet Osmani Medical College and Hospital for an autopsy examination.
