The Bangladesh Bank on Thursday asked banks to raise conveyance allowance rationally for their employees during the Covid restriction period if they (banks) fail to ensure transport for their staff.

Banks have been providing services to their customers for three hours in working days since the imposition of the Covid restriction period beginning on April 14.

The BB issued the circular as many banks have failed to ensure transport for their employees during the restriction period.

It said that banks were supposed to ensure transport for their employees during the ongoing restrictions.

However, many banks have failed to comply with the instruction.

As a result of the failure, bank officials are facing sufferings due to lack of public transport and they had to spend much higher for conveyance during the period.
