Nine Bangladeshis have secured positions on the ‘Forbes 30 under 30’ Asia list for their remarkable ventures in enterprise technology, social impact, retail and e-commerce.
The prestigious business magazine, the Forbes, published its sixth annual ‘30 Under 30 Asia’ list on Monday.
The Bangladeshis who named in this year’s list are: Gaze cofounders Shehzad Noor Taus Priyo, 24, and Motasim Bir Rahman, 26; Cramstack founder Mir Sakib, 28; Awareness 360 cofounders Shomy Chowdhury, 26, and Rijve Arefin, 26; Obhizatrik Foundation founder Ahmed Imtiaz Jami, 27; Hydroquo+ cofounders Rizvana Hredita, 28, and Md Zahin Rohan Razeen, 22; and Pickaboo cofounder Morin Talukder, 27.
Earlier, nine other Bangladeshi youths secured position on the list from 2016 to 2020.
Taus and Mostasim’s venture Gaze provides visual recognition technologies for online transactions. It has been making waves in the last couple of years with the Artificial Intelligence supporting features like spoof-proof face recognition and others.
Mir’s Cramstack helps industries with its natural language-driven search interface to analyse and visualise data.
Shomy and Arefin cofounded Awareness 360 has 1,500 volunteers in 23 countries and campaigned for 1,50,000 on personal hygiene basics such as hand-washing, water-filtration, sanitation and others.
Jami founded Obhizatrik Foundation supports underprivileged children. Its 3,500 volunteers helped one million destitute children eliminating poverty, providing education, health and nutrition and human rights supports.
Hredita and Razeen’s start-up Hydroquo+ provides Artificial Intelligence-powered water management solutions that report on the quality of the water; identify leakage and provide forecasting of demand based on usage.
Morin’s e-commerce venture Pickaboo’ is renowned in Bangladesh for listing quality products and fast delivery. It was one of the first few start-ups to offer EMI and same-day delivery.
