Ekattor Television associate news producer Rifat Sultana died hours after giving birth to a baby on Friday at a hospital in the capital. She was 33.
Rifat, her husband and mother-in-law had been suffering form COVID-19 for a week, her brother-in-law Musfiqul Islam told New Age.
He said that Sultana gave birth to a baby girl in the morning. She tested positive for COVID-19 ten days ago and she was also suffering from some pregnancy-related complications.
Including Sultana, a total of 35 journalists and media workers have died of the deadly disease while 14 others died with COVID-19 like symptoms in the country since its attack early 2020.
