COVID-19 deaths in Bangladesh surged to 96 in the past 24 hours on Wednesday.
It also logged an additional 5,185 infections in this period.
With this, the death toll from the viral disease hits 9,987 and infections to 703,170.
A Directorate General of Health Services release came up with the latest COVID-19 update.
Among the deceased, 59 were male 37 were female patients.
Some 24,825 specimens were tested in the timeline at 255 labs across the country.
Bangladesh had tested a total of 50,95,613 specimens as of April 14.
A total of 5,333 patients were declared free from novel coronavirus infection in the past 24 hours totalling the recovery to 591,299.
Bangladesh on March 8, 2020 reported the first COVID-19 positive cases while the first death was logged ten days later on March 18, 2020.
