Banking transactions on Tuesday will continue till 3:00pm instead of 1:00pm ahead of eight-day closure, starting from Wednesday.
Accordingly, office hours for the banks were extended to 5:00pm.
The transaction time was extended for the day with a view to tackle extra pressure, Bangladesh Bank general manager and assistant spokesperson Md Anwarul Islam told New Age.
During the eight-day restriction on movement, the banks would only provide export and import related services from branches, sub-branches and booths adjacent to the land, water and airports.
