Workers Party worried at government failure in tackling COVID-19

Workers Party of Bangladesh, a partner of the Awami League-led alliance, on Monday expressed concern over failures of the government in tackling the COVID-19 situation in the country properly.

The party politburo in a press statement said that the mismanagement, improper steps and corruption of the government were causes for the increase in corona infections in the second phase.

The party called on the government to take immediate steps for giving food and monetary assistance for the working class and the poor during the strict restriction.

WP politburo also called on the government to involve the elected representatives and different forces for implementation of the restriction.

Moreover it demanded involving the mayors, upazila chairmen and member of the parliaments for preparing a list of working class people and the poor across the country.

The party also demanded that the government take full responsibilities of corona treatments and the age limit for corona vaccination should be reduced to 18, as youths were infected more in the second phase.
