The police are set to launch a mobile-based application today to control public movement during fresh restrictions from Wednesday.

The police headquarters in a message said on Monday that inspector general of police Benazir Ahmed would inaugurate the ‘movement pass’ application at a programme at Rajarbagh police lines.

The police officials on Monday were unwilling to share details about the application. One of the officials at the police headquarters said the app was for all who would need to go from one place to another for official purposes and for any emergency movement.

The official said it was expected that all would take the pass through the application.
