Maya-The Lost Mother to participate in SAARC International Film Fest

National Film Award-winning filmmaker Masud Pathik’s government grant-winning film, Maya-The Lost Mother, is going to participate in the upcoming SAARC International Film Festival in Sri Lanka, said a press release.

The festival will be held from May 4 to May 9. Maya-The Lost Mother will be screened in the Feature Film Category. Maya-The Lost Mother has been inspired by Paris-based Bangladeshi artist Shahabuddin Ahmed’s work titled Nari and poet Kamal Chowdhury’s poem titled Judhdho Shishu.

The film has bagged 10 National Film Awards in eight different categories. It has participated in 22 international film festivals.

It portrays the story of war children who are struggling with their identity and the past of their mothers, Biranganas (war heroines).

The film stars Jyotika Jyoti, Tollywood actress Mumtaz Sorcar, Pran Roy, Syed Hasan Imam, Jhuna Chowdhury, poet Aslam Sunny and others.
