10 U-turn facilities opened in Dhaka to reduce congestion

The Dhaka North City Corporation on Saturday opened 10 U-turn facilities between Uttara and Tejgaon Satrasta in the capital with an aim to ease traffic congestion.

Following the introduction of these facilities at 10 points, vehicles on the Shaheed Tajuddin Ahmed Avenue and New Airport road would not take turn to the right side from now on, said a press release issued by the corporation.

The initiative was taken under the Construction of 11 U-Turn from Satrasta Intersection at Tejgaon to House Building at Uttara in Dhaka Project taken by the corporation.

Under the project, the U-turn facilities were introduced at Uttara Rajlokkhi, Uttara RAB-1 office, Flying Club at Kawla, Banani overpass, Banani Army Stadium, Banani Chairman Bari, Amtoli at Mohakhali, Mohakhali bus terminal, Nabisco intersection at Tejgaon and BG Press at Satrasta.

The traffic police will now stop right turn by vehicles at Navy headquarters branch road, Banani road n0 27, Banani Kakoli, Banani road no 11, Mohakhali Amtoli intersection, Tejgaon Kohinur intersection and Love road intersection.

The initiative will reduce traffic congestion on roads, the release added.
