Two buses of Bangladesh Road Transport Corporation were set on fire at Naodapara truck terminal in Rajshahi city on Sunday morning.

No one was arrested yet while police were investigating the matter, said Shah Makhdum police officer-in-charge Saiful Islam.

BRTC officials said that the amount of damages were yet to be estimated.

Saiful Islam told New Age that the incident took place at about 6:30am.

Members of police and fire services have put the fire off immediately, he said.

Following the fire the seat covers of the buses were torched and the glasses were damaged, he also said.

‘These buses were in abandoned condition and we don’t know yet how it caught fire,’ the officer-in-charge said.

BRTC general manager Amjad Hossain told New Age that their officials would visit the spot shortly to assess the damage.

Then they would file a case at the Shah Makhdum police station, he added.
