Fazle Quayum was appointed deputy managing director of Jamuna Bank on March 24, said a press release.
Prior to the appointment, Quayum served as a senior executive vice-president and head of credit risk management at the bank.
Quayum has around 36 years of experience during which he has held senior management positions both in banks and a financial institution, focusing on credit risk management and corporate banking. Quayum started his banking career in 1982 as a probationary officer at AB Bank, the then Arab Bangladesh Bank.
In 2011, he joined IPDC Finance Ltd, the then Industrial Promotion and Development Company Ltd, as a member of the senior management.
Quayum obtained his MBA degree from the Institute of Business Administration at Dhaka University in 1980, and subsequently from the State University of New York (SUNY), Binghamton in 1982 with a major in finance. He is also a Diplomaed Associate of the Institute of Bankers Bangladesh.
