Bangladesh Abritti Samannay Parishad has introduced Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Jatiya Abritti Padak marking the birth centenary of the country’s founding president Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and the golden jubilee of the country’s independence.

The announcement was made at a press conference held at the Sagar-Runi Auditorium of the Dhaka Reporter’s Unity on Saturday.

The organisation will honour the late renowned recitation artiste-actor Golam Mustafa posthumously with the award. This year’s award-giving ceremony will be held in October due to the COVID-19 crisis.

In future, Bangladesh Abritti Samannay Parishad will organise the annual award-giving ceremony on March 31.

Bangladesh Abritti Samannay Parishad members Belayet Hossain, Rafiqul Islam, Rezina Wali Lina, Azharul Haque Azad, Masuduzzaman, Rashed Hasan and Kazi Mahtab Suman, among others, were present at the conference. Bangladesh Abritti Samannay Parishad’s president Asaduzzaman Noor presided over the programme.

‘Bangladesh Abritti Samannay Parishad will honour a renowned recitation artiste with Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Jatiya Abritti Padak every year on March 31. However, we will organise this year’s programme in October due to the COVID-19 crisis.’ said Asaduzzaman Noor.
