BGB nabs 2 with 4.5kg gold

The Border Guard Bangladesh detained two people with 13 gold bars weighing about 4.54 kilograms worth about Tk 3.2 crores from a bus at Bahadurpur in Jashore on Jashore- Magura Road on Saturday, said BGB battalion49 commanding officer Selim Reza.

The arrested are Aktar Hossain Mondal, 30, of Khalkhol at Baliakandi in Rajbari, and Hossain Miji, 37, of Hogladangi village of Rajbari sadar.

Selim said that on a tip off they stopped Benapolebound Fame Paribahan bus going from Shriatpur at 12:30pm.

He also claimed that the gold bars might have been taken to Benapole to be smuggled into India.
