DU proctor tests positive for COVID-19 two weeks after vaccination

Dhaka University proctor professor AKM Golam Rabbani had tested positive for COVID-19 two weeks after taking the first dose of coronavirus vaccine.

Meanwhile, two more assistant proctors were also infected with the viral disease.

The proctor was vaccinated on March 3 and currently receiving treatment in isolation at his residence.

Golam Rabbani confirmed the information on Saturday afternoon.

He said, ‘On March 18, I tested positive for COVID-19. However, there are no physical complications. There is only mild fever. Besides, two other assistant proctors also tested positive for COVID-19.’

They are ABM Ashrafuzzaman, Faculty of Law, and Ahsan Babu, Faculty of Social Sciences. All of them had taken the first dose of COVID-19 vaccine.

Earlier on March 12, DU pro-VC ASM Maksud Kamal tested positive for COVID-19, one month after taking the first dose of the vaccine.
