A booklet on the country’s founding president Sheikh Mujibur Rahman’s historic 7th March speech translated into Vietnamese language was unveiled in Vietnam on Wednesday marking the celebration of 101st birth anniversary of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

The birth anniversary of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and the National Children’s Day were celebrated at the Bangladesh embassy, Hanoi and Vietnam, said a press release received in Dhaka.

Hoisting of national flag, recitation of speeches of the president, prime minister, foreign minister and state minister for foreign affairs and prayers and discussion meetings were held on the occasion.

As part of the celebration of the day, the special guests — member of the Vietnamese national assembly Ms Lee Thu Ha and ambassador Samina Naz — unveiled the cover of a booklet on Sheikh Mujibur Rahman’s historic 7th March speech — UNESCO’s ‘Memory of the World International Register’ in Vietnamese language.

High officials of the ministry of foreign affairs of Vietnam, ambassador of India, ambassador of Sri Lanka, members of the diplomatic corps, expatriate Bangladeshis and embassy staff, among others, were present at the function.
