The ambassador of Spain to Bangladesh Francisco de Asis Benitez Salas on Sunday paid a courtesy call on Dhaka North City Corporation mayor Atiqul Islam at his office at Gulshan in the capital.
During the meeting, the mayor expressed interest in importing high quality pesticides from Spain for mosquito control, said a press release.
The envoy said that all possible cooperation would be extended to import high quality pesticides from Spain to control mosquito.
In addition, Spain is interested to work with Dhaka north city on eco-friendly urban transport system, urban greening, recycling, smart city and overall municipal management.
‘Spain has good experience in urban management, which we would like to share with the DNCC,’ he said.
DNCC CEO Selim Reza and secretary Rabindra Shri Barua were present during the meeting.
