Sk Jamal finish 2nd after 1st-leg

Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club maintained their unbeaten run in the Bangladesh Premier League as they beat Mohammedan Sporting Club 2-0 in the final match of the first- leg at the Bangabandhu National Stadium on Sunday.

Uzbekistani midfielder Vali Jonov Otabek and Gambian forward Solomon King Kanform scored once each in either half of the game to help Jamal move up to second place from third.

Otabek gave Jamal the lead in the 25th minute with a right-footed drive from top of the six-yard box off after a cross by Gambian forward Pa Omar Jobe from left side.

Solomon doubled the margin in the 83rd minute with a fierce drive from right-inside the box also assisted by Jobe with a cross from the left side.

With the win Jamal earned 26 points from 12 matches, one point ahead of second-placed Abahani Limited but eight points behind table toppers Bashundhara Kings.
