Country’s premier archer Ruman Shana finished sixth in the men’s recurve singles’ event but bounced back by topping the men’s recurve team event in the qualification round of the Bangabandhu 12th National Archery Championship in Cox’s Bazar on Tuesday.
Air Force archer Ramkrishno Saha claimed the top-spot out of the 70 participants in the singles’ event, followed by Ansar’s Shakib Mollah with 654 points.
Shana finished with 644 points in the qualification round held at the Sheikh Kamal International Cricket Stadium.
In the team event, Shana alongside Shakil Molla and Imdadul Haque Milon scored 1924 points playing for the Ansar team.
Police team’s Tamimul Islam, Hakim Ahmed and Al Amin scored 1913 to place second among 16 teams.
Mehnaz Akter scored 615 points to secure top place in the women’s recurve singles’ event.
Mehnaz also combined with Rabeya Akter and Sabina Akter to place top in the women’s recurve team event, scoring 1775 points.
In the recurve mixed event, Tamimul Islam and Eti Khatun secured the top position, scoring 1260 points.
Asim Kumar Das finished top in the men’s compound event with 684 points while Rokshana Akter earned the top-spot in the women’s event with 690 points.
The trio of Jabed Alam, Mithu Rahman and Sohel Rana placed top in the men’s compound team event with 2,027 points.
Rokshana, Susmita Bonik and Tania Rima scored 2,027 points to win in the women’s compound team event.
The duo of Rokshana and Mithu scored 1371 points to win the mixed compound event.
