Border Guard Bangladesh seized smuggled goods and drugs worth Tk 48.15 crore from across the country, including the frontiers, in February.
Besides, 224 people were arrested for their involvement in smuggling goods. It said legal action has been taken against 297 Bangladesh nationals and nine Indians for illegally crossing the border.
The seized drugs include, 5,72,413 pieces of Yaba tablets, 62,878 bottles of phensedyl, 16, 579 bottles of foreign liquor, 914 cans of beer, 2,069 kilograms of hemp, 6.536 kilograms of heroin, 5,574 ampules of stimulus injection, 5,657 bottles of Escof syrup, 1,657 Senegra tablets and 4,73,068 pieces different types of tablets.
The other seized smuggled goods include 2.416 kilograms of gold, 67,535 cosmetic items, 2,027 pieces of saris, 470 sets of three-pieces, 895 readymade garments, 3,707 CFT wood, 729 kilograms of tea and 33,000 kilograms of coal.
Besides, eight trucks and covered vans, seven private cars and microbuses, six pick-up vans, eight CNG run auto-rickshaws and 66 motorbikes were seized.
The paramilitary force also seized two pistols, six guns and a magazine during the period, said a press release.
