A schoolgirl was killed in a road accident at Sitakunda upazila in Chattogram on Sunday.
The deceased was Shams Tahiyat Mounota, 16, a Class X student of Bangladesh Military Academy School, said officials.
Baro Aulia highway police sub-inspector Md Babul Mia said a mini-bus hit Mounota from behind while she was boarding another vehicle in Bhatiyari at around 12:00pm.
The accident left her dead on the spot, he said.
Police detained the driver of the mini bus after the accident, said the police officer.
