The college student, who was injured in a teenage gang conflict at Badda in the capital on Monday, died in a city hospital on Friday.
The 18-year-old victim, Kazol Gazi, was son of Kamal Gazi, a resident of Baghapur in Badda. He was a student of Gulshan Commerce College.
Badda police sub-inspector Nadim Mahmud said that two teenage gangs of the area engaged in an altercation over a senior-junior conflict during a cricket match on Monday.
To settle the issue, the groups sat for arbitration and then a clash broke out leaving dozens, including Kazol, injured.
Kazol died at BRB Hospital, where he was undergoing treatment.
Kazol’s friends and family members alleged that ‘option group’ members in a Facebook post even again threatened them to attack.
The police officer said that two cases were filed after the incident accusing 50 people.
Nadim said that the police was investigating both cases.
He said that the body was sent to Dhaka Medical College Hospital morgue for autopsy but none was arrested.
Earlier on Wednesday night, a 14-year-old boy was hacked to death at Banani I Dhaka as a sequel of teenage gangs’ conflict, police officials said.
