Dhaka University authorities will with the government decision about reopening the institution.
The University will reopen on May 24 while residential halls will reopen on May 17 maintaining the health guidelines after vaccination of the teachers and students.
The decision was taken at the academy committee meeting held on Tuesday afternoon.
Addressing a press briefing after the meeting, DU vice-chancellor Professor Md Akhtaruzzaman confirmed the news to journalists.
In the press conference the DU VC said, ‘Dormitories will reopen as per the government decision. Besides, regular activities of the university will resume after vaccinating the students, teachers and employees by April 17.’
Regarding the students’ protest to reopen the dormitories, he said, ‘We hope that students will respect the government decision and they will wait until the dormitories are reopened officially by the authorities.’
