Mobile court fines eight businesses in Barishal

Separate mobile courts in Barishal have fined six businesses, including a bakery.

The operation was carried out on Thursday from 9:30 am to 2:00 pm in the Charmonai Bazar area in Barishal.

The campaign was led by Shah Shoaib Miah and Sumi Rani Mitra, assistant directors of the Consumer Rights Protection Department in Barishal. The businesses were fined under the Consumer Rights Protection Act for failing to display price lists and selling expired products or medicines.

The convicted owners and establishments are - Md. Moslem, proprietor of Rajib Store, Md. Delwar Hossain, proprietor of Grameen Telecom, Md. Mahbub Khan, proprietor of Khan Store, Md. Eunuch Bepari, proprietor of Bhai Bhai Cosmetics, Md. Md. Jamal, proprietor of Satata Store and Md. Shahidul Islam, proprietor of Gazi Library and Varieties Store.

They were fined a total of Tk 20,500.
