Mohammedan Sporting Club registered their fourth win in the Bangladesh Premier League as they beat Rahmatganj Muslim Friends Society 2-0 at the Shaheed Dhirendranath Dutta Stadium in Cumilla on Wednesday.
In the day’s two other matches at the Bangabandhu National Stadium, Chittagong Abahani beat Brothers Union 1-0 while Muktijoddha Sangsad Krira Chakra also beat Police Football Club by identical margin.
In Cumilla, Mohammedan’s Malian forward Souleymane Diabate and forward Amir Hakim Bappy scored one goal each in either half of the match.
Diabate gave Mohammedan the lead in the third minute, availing a long pass from midfielder Rakib Khan.
Bappy made it 2-0 in the stoppage time of the match placing the ball home following a cross by midfielder Forhad Mona.
For Muktijoddha, their Cameroonian forward Christian Bekamenga scored the match winning goal with a back-header in the 41st minute following a throw-in by forward Mehedi Hasan Royal
Midfielder Manik Hossain Mollah scored the winner for the port city outfit with a header in the 72nd minute.
