Police detained Shahnaj red-handed while chopping the body into pieces in their flat on Thursday.
Nazrul said that knew that Sajib was married to Shahnaj and they were living in Chattogram.
Shahnaj called Sajib’s mother on Thursday afternoon and informed her that they were leaving for Canada to settle there permanently.
Police said by the time, Sajib was murder. Shahnaj called Sajib’s family to misguide them, said SI Saiful.
According to the case statement, Shahnaj developed affair with Sajib, a transport company employee, elven years ago despite the family’s objection.
But recently a dispute surfaced between the duo and she called him to the house at KM Das Lane on Thursday, where she killed him and chopped, the case added.
Shahnaj’s husband Jashim Uddin on Monday filed a general diary with the police station, reporting her to be missing.
But she was finally caught red-handed with a body which was slashed into five pieces, at the house, police said.
However, Jashim will be interrogated to confirm if he was involved in the killing, SI Saiful said, adding, more people can also be quizzed over the murder.
