Eight students studying at the fine arts faculty of Dhaka University received Berger Paints Bangladesh Awards at an award giving ceremony held at Lecture Theatre Hall of the faculty on Monday.
Berger Paints Bangladesh Limited awarded the students for their academic achievement in BFA honours programme.
Tahia Hossain, from the department of printmaking, received the Student of the Year Award. She received cash prize of Tk 50,000 along with a certificate of excellence.
Besides, Rasel Rana from the department of drawing and painting, Emana Shahrin from the department of graphic design, Laila Fazal from the department of oriental art, Sharmin Akter Shimu from the department of ceramics, Nayan Datta from the department of sculpture, Nusrat Alam Pritha from the department of craft and Eshita Sarmin Sayma from the department of history art received awards. Each awardee received Tk 30,000 as prize money.
Berger initiated the award in 2018 to honour DU FFA students for academic excellence and provide financial assistance to the most promising young artists at the final stage of their academic pursuit.
