The Islamic Banks Consultative Forum has elected Social Islami Bank chairman Anwarul Azim Arif as chairman and re-elected Al-Arafah Islami Bank chairman Abdus Samad and Central Depository Bangladesh vice-chairman AKM Nurul Fazal Bulbul as vice-chairmen of the Forum for two years.
The elections came at the Forum’s 59th meeting held virtually on Tuesday.
The Forum also elected Bangladesh Association of Banks chairman Nazrul Islam Mazumder, Standard Bank chairman Qazi Akramuddin Ahmed and Islami Bank Bangladesh chairman Nazmul Hassan as advisers of the IBCF.
The Forum also selected Mohammed Haider Ali Miah, managing director and chief executive officer of EXIM Bank as chairman of the task committee of the IBCF while Syed Waseque Md Ali, managing director and CEO of First Security Islami Bank, and Mohammed Monirul Moula, managing director and CEO of Islami Bank Bangladesh, as co-chairmen of the task committee.
