Out of the 31 disciplines of the ninth Bangladesh Games, seven will be held outside of Dhaka, Bangladesh Olympic Association decided it in a meeting on Tuesday.
The meeting brought a major change in the fixture as the archery venue was shifted to Kuakata from Tongi and the discipline will now be held from April 3 to 7 instead of previous date of April 1 to 7.
The men’s and women’s cricket competitions will be held respectively in Sylhet and Cox’s Bazar from April 3 to 7.
Karate, rugby, tennis, volleyball and weightlifting are the other five disciplines that will be held outside of the capital.
Karate will be held in Bandarban from April 5 to 8, Rugby in Rangpur from April 2 to 5. Tennis will be held in Rajshahi from April 2 to 9, volleyball in Narail from April 5 to 9 and weightlifting in Mymensingh from April 5 to 9.
The men’s and women’s football, athletics, badminton, basketball, bodybuilding, boxing, chess, cycling, fencing, golf, gymnastics, handball, hockey, judo, kabaddi, kho kho, rowing, roller skating, swimming, shooting, table tennis, taekwondo, wrestling and wushu will be held in Dhaka.
