Bangladesh Nationalist Party secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir on Monday repeated his call to the prime minister, ministers and members of parliament to take COVID-19 vaccines first to build confidence among the people.
People are confused and frightened about the vaccine and if the prime minister, ministers and MPs take the vaccines first, people will feel safe to have the vaccines, he said.
Fakhrul said these while talking to journalists at the hall room of the recreational spot Vinnojagot Dream Palace in Rangpur on Monday afternoon.
Fakhrul said that the AL government had failed to control COVID-19 and to formulate a plan for mass vaccination.
The leader complained that the government was ruling over the country depending on the police force.
It is a great defeat of the AL that it has destroyed the spirit of democracy, he added.
Fakhrul said that people had lost their confidence and interest on the country’s electoral system for rampant frauds.
He demanded that the Election Commission should resign for its failure in holding free and fair elections.
BNP’s Rangpur division branch organising secretary Asadul Habib Dulu and the leaders of eight district units were present in the meeting.
