At least four people were killed and nine others injured in two road accidents in Bandarban and Feni districts on Thursday.
A jeep, locally called Chander Gari, plunged into a ditch on Thanchi-Likri Road in Bandarban in the morning and three people died on the spot and five others got injured.
Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha reported that the deceased were Md Ashu of Cox’s Bazar, Md Hossain of Chattogram and Payel Bom of Thanchi upazila.
The accident occurred when the jeep driver lost control over steering at Tin Kilometre on the way to Thanchi, said Thanchi police officer-in-charge Md Sifuddin Anowar.
The injured were admitted to Bandarban General Hospital.
New Age correspondent in Feni reported that a girl was killed and four others injured in a head-on collision between two CNG-run auto-rickshaws on Shonagazi-Kashmirbazar regional highway at Shonagazi in the district.
The deceased was Tamanna Tabassum Momo, 9, daughter of Jasim Uddin of village Charganesh in Shonagazi municipality.
All the victims were the passengers of the auto-rickshaws.
Shonagazi model police officer-in-charge Md Sajedul Islam said that the auto-rickshaws collided Thursday noon, injuring the five.
And the injured were taken to Shonagazi Upazila Health Complex, where Momo died.
A case was being processed, he added.
