A total of 3.5 million or 35 lakh doses of COVID-19 vaccine would be brought to Dhaka on Thursday in the first instalment.
This is part of arrangements for making the vaccine available for the country’s people on a priority basis, foreign minister AK Abdul Momen said this at a briefing.
India would hand over two million doses of vaccine as a gift on Thursday, he said, adding, the private sector is importing 1.5 million doses of the vaccine under a special arrangement.
‘The government will start vaccination of people after getting the Indian supplies. Several countries, including, Russia and China, have also offered to provide vaccine to Bangladesh,’ the FM said.
