The COVID-19 vaccination programme would begin in Bangladesh in the first week of February, health secretary Abdul Mannan said while addressing a joint briefing of health ministry, DGHS and ICT ministry at the prime minister’s office on Wednesday.
Two million doses of vaccines as gift from India will reach Dhaka on Thursday afternoon by an Air India flight.
Vaccination will begin at Kurmitola General Hospital and 25 healthcare providers will be administered the vaccines on the first day, the health secretary said.
