Gono Bishwabidyalay organised a condolence meeting followed by a doa mahfil on Wednesday for the late journalist Mizanur Rahman Khan who was also a part-time teacher at the university.

GB vice-chancellor Laila Parveen Banu presided over the meeting on the campus where arts and social science faculty dean Mansur Musa, science and engineering faculty dean Hasin Anupama Azhari, veterinary and animal science faculty dean Motaher Hossain Mandol, among others, spoke.

Speakers said that journalist Mizanur Rahman Khan was also a good mannered brilliant teacher.

Daily Prothom Alo joint editor Mizanur breathed his last on Monday at Universal Medical College Hospital in the capital after 40 days of his struggle against coronavirus and was buried at Mirpur Intellectuals’ Graveyard on Tuesday.

Mizanur is survived by his mother, wife, three children, four brothers, three sisters and a host of relatives and admirers.

He was born at Nalchhiti in Jhalakathi on October 31, 1967.
