One Rohingya killed, 20 injured in clash

One Rohingya man was killed and at least 20 others were injured in a clash between two extremist groups at Chakmarkul Rohingya camp in Teknaf of Cox’s Bazar on Sunday morning.

The deceased is Hakim Noor, 27, son of Hossain Ali of C-block of Camp No 21 in Chakmarkul.

Sub-inspector Noor Alam, in-charge of the – Whykong police outpost in Teknaf, confirmed the matter to New Age and said that a group of Rohingya terrorists from Hakimpara and Jamtali Rohingya camps in Ukhiya went to block-C of Chakmarkul Rohingya camp in Teknaf.

There they exchanged 60-70 rounds of ammunition with the Toha forces.

Hakim died in the incident while 12 of the injured were taken to a hospital supported by Save the Children, a humanitarian organisation.

The body of the deceased was recovered and sent to the morgue of Cox’s Bazar General Hospital for post-mortem examination.
