At least 3,440 women and children became victims of various repressions in the outgoing year amid the coronavirus pandemic, according to a report of Bangladesh Mahila Parishad.
Of the victims, a total of 1,350 women and children were raped and 200 others faced rape attempts, said the report on Thursday.
The women rights organisation unveiled the report prepared on the basis of monitoring 13 newspapers.
Among the raped, 236 were gang raped while 33 of them were killed after rape, said the report.
BMP report stated that 101 female became victims of trafficking including three in prostitution while 43 women became victim of cybercrime.
