State Minister for Water Resources retired colonel Zahid Farooq on Sunday said tree plantation programme will continue in all embankment projects.
Afforestation causes less riverbank erosion and less damage, he said while speaking at a function at Pani Bhaban on Green Road in Dhaka on the occasion of Mujib Year.
Moreover, Farooq said, the Sundarbans served as a defence in Bangladesh against the cyclone Amphan.
