The Cinemaking International Film Festival 2020 will begin following hybrid format on December 24, said a press release.
The festival, which will screen films at Masud Mancha, Donia and www.cinemaking24.com, will be organised by Dhaka Festival in association with Cinemaking.
More than 400 films from 70 countries were submitted to the festival, which will feature 150 films from 54 countries. Besides, 28 local films will be screened in 11 categories.
Actor Tutul Chowdhury is the chairman, actor Moin Khan is the co-chairman and CIFF founder filmmaker Monjurul Islam Megh is the festival director of the event.
Masud Mancha and Rushda Films are festival partners.
Festival Director Monjurul Islam Megh said that the festival will begin with Indian eminent filmmaker Padma Shri winner Apurba Kishor Bir’s film Antardhawni.
Bollywood actress Swapna Pati has portrayed the lead role in the film, which was premiered at Cannes film Festival’s Marché du Film in 2019.
The second day of the festival will feature children’s films under the segment Kids films Show Day.
Bangladeshi young women filmmaker Nanziba Khan’s The Unwanted Twin will be screened under Special Screening segment on December 26.
The festival’s curtain will conclude with European filmmaker Gultekin Bayir’s Bir Denizcinin Dogum Gunu.
