Cultural organisation Chhayanaut is paying tribute to the national poet Kazi Nazrul Islam organising a four-day online programme.
The event, titled Nai Dukkho, Achhe Shudhu Pran, commenced on December 17. It is featuring Kazi Nazrul Islam’s songs and poems addressing human relationship, nature, devotion and others.
It is being streamed live on the Facebook page and YouTube channel of Chhayanaut daily at 9:00 pm.
Chhayanaut artistes commenced the opening day’s programme rendering Nazrul song Dao sourjo dao dhoirjo he udar nath.
Chhayanaut vice president Sarwar Ali, acclaimed singers Mahmudur Rahman Benu, Raoshan Ara, Rahat Ara Giti, renowned actor-director Tropa Majumder and others attended the inaugural ceremony.
Besides, Chhayanaut artistes entertained viewers rendering songs.
Ananya Shila Shamsuddin rendered Pashaner bhangale ghum, Animesh Sarkar sang Tarun premik pranay bedan, Taslima Sultana rendered Keno ano phool dor aji biday bela, Farhana Akter sang Thir hoye tui bos dekhi ma, Tanvir Ahmed rendered Jagater nath karo paar, Shikha Rauf sang Amar jabar samay holo, Sanjida Johora Bithika rendered Sada man chahe and Swarna Nag sang Elo krishna kanaiya tomal bone, among others.
Besides, Manipuri dance artiste Samina Husain Prema presented a dance recital synchronised with the song Ogo antarjami bhokter taba and dancer Sudeshna Swayamprabha Tathoi presented a dance recital synchronised with the song Srijan chhande anande nacho natraj.
The festival will end on December 20.
