Users across the world reported problems with Facebook, Instagram, and Messenger on Thursday — some of the most popular social media apps around the world on Thursday, reports the Daily Mail.
The Facebook-owned social media apps went down at around 9.30 GMT, according to the website Downdetector, which monitors online outages.
The issue appears to be affecting thousands of users across the world, with around 80 per cent claiming to be having trouble sending and receiving messages.
Facebook's private messaging app, Messenger, appears to be facing similar problems, with the majority of reports coming from the UK and Europe.
Downdetector also recorded a spike in Instagram users having problems uploading posts and stories, although the issue seems to me a lot smaller, with only a few hundred reports.
