Team Red wins 1st U-19 practice game

Team Red defeated Team Green by 33 runs in the first 50-over practice match of the preliminary Under-19 squad camp at the Sylhet International Stadium on Wednesday.

Batting first, Team Red batsmen Nabil made 43 off 42 balls and Leon struck an unbeaten 35 off 37 balls to take them to 187-8 in 50 overs.

In reply, Team Green was reeling at 68-6 after 31 overs before Kibria and Ferdous added 57 runs for the seventh wicket.

Ferdous was dismissed in the 45th over for 33 but Kibria continued his lone battle, remaining unbeaten on a run-a-ball 44, but ran out of partners as Team Green got bundled out for 154 in 48.4 overs.

Ripon was the pick of the Team Red bowlers, finishing with 5-20.

The players will have a rest day today before playing the second of their five scheduled practice matches at the same venue on Friday.
