Cultural organisation Wrishiz Shilpi Goshti will honour five individuals with Wrishiz Padak at a programme scheduled to be held at the Music and Dance Centre of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy on Friday.
Wrishiz will organise the event marking its 44th founding anniversary. The organisation will honour renowned media personality Nawazish Ali Khan, eminent actress Sujata Azim, singer Khurshid Alam, veteran actor Raisul Islam Asad and noted recitation artiste Bhaswar Bandyopadhyay for their contribution in their respective fields.
Liberation war affairs minister AKM Mozammel Haque will be present as chief guest at the programme. Awami League office secretary and prime minister’s special assistant Biplob Barua and Sammilita Sanskritik Jote president Ghulam Quddus will be present as special guests.
Noted people’s song singer Fakir Alamgir will preside over the programme.
Besides awards ceremony, the event will feature a cultural programme.
Artistes from different cultural organisations including Bangladesh Udichi Shilpigosthi, Kranti Shilpigosthi, Satyen Sen Shilpigoshti, Wrishiz Shilpi Goshti, Swabhumi and Anondon will perform at the event.
‘We introduced Wrishiz Padak in 1983. Every year we honour renowned personalities for their contribution to the country’s art and cultural arenas.
This year we will honour five persons with the award. We will increase the number of award recipients in the future,’ Fakir Alamgir, founder of Wrishiz Shilpi Goshti, told New Age.
