Tagore singers entertained music lovers rendering popular songs of Nobel laureate Rabindranath Tagore in an online programme held on Saturday.
Bangladesh Rabindra Sangeet Shilpi Sangstha, a platform for Tagore artistes, arranged the programme, titled Jibone Amar Sangeet Dao Ani, which was streamed live on the Facebook page of BRSSS at 9:00 pm.
The organisation has been arranging online music shows every week on Saturday to entertain music lovers amid the COVID-19 outbreak.
Tagore singers namely Ikhtiar Omar, Moqbul Hossain, Debolina Sur and Steve Turjo performed at the programme, which was hosted by Tagore artiste Aniruddha Sen Gupta.
Steve Turjo commenced the programme rendering Tagore’s song Gobhiro rajani. He also sang Darao mono anonto brohmando majhe.
Ikhtiar Omar sang Majhe majhe tabo dekha pai, Jodi e amar hriday duar, Roy je kangal shunyo haate and amare koro tomar bina.
Debolina Sur sang Tomaro asime pranomon loye and Ami kan pete roi.
Moqbul Hossain rendered Asa jaowar pather dhare, Anirurdha Sen Gupta snag Khelar chhale sajiye amar ganer bani.
‘Today we streamed our 29th online music show. We have been arranging music shows featuring Tagore songs since August 29 to entertain music lovers amid the COVID-19 crisis. Both leading and upcoming Tagore artistes from across the globe have been participating in our programmes. I invite all to watch our upcoming music shows,’ Moqbul Hossain, general secretary of BRSSS, told New Age.
