Ruling Awami League on Sunday removed its Sirajganj district unit president Abdul Latif Biswas and acting general secretary Habibe Millat following a factional feud between the two top leaders of the district.
Removing Latif and Millat, the party has appointed vice-president AKM Hosen Ali and joint general secretary Abdus Salam Talukder as acting president and acting secretary of the Sirajganj district unit, said an AL press release.
Latif told New Age that he has no idea about the reason behind his dismissal while Millat did not respond to phone calls.
Earlier on November 19, AL fired its Narsingdi district unit president Nazrul Islam and general secretary Abdul Matin Bhuiyan following a factional feud between the two top leaders of the district.
Removing them, AL appointed the district unit’s vice-president GM Taleb and joint general secretary Pirjada Kazi M Ali as acting president and acting general secretary respectively.
